Okay, its not my best, but I was in class, can you blame me? My goal was really just to make them recognizable…
Self criticism aside, GO JEN! YOU CAN DO IT! Publishing a book is a pretty cool (and really big) deal. I look immensely forward to reading it!

Thanks SQT!! You’ve been really encouraging, especially this weekend. I won’t forget the little peptalk you gave me, and I’ll keep it handy the next time I start feeling down.

…one more :)
even when cat and peter are a part for a little while, they are still together in spirit, cheering each other on!

The click and drag thing is so cool! Everyone click and drag this :)
Thanks, SD, for your constant support and encouragement. You’re my favorite beta, I couldn’t have done this without you!

Still Writing at Kaldis. This is Cat’s image song in case you’re curious. If you want to know what her soul sounds like, this song it is.

Steampunk Cat - Sketch by *Atrixfromice
My friend Atrix drew a picture of Cat in a steampunk outfit! Isn’t she sweet?

Thredcaster IPad art.
This is Cat, the protagonist of my YA Fantasy, Threadcaster.
Cat is 16, living with her parents in the small mountain town of Mason Forge. She has a gift for making patterns and games from string and spends a lot of time experimenting with different patterns. One day when she was young, she ‘invented’ a pattern that let her use the element of fire like magic. Over time she learned the other three elements as well. Unfortunately magic is restricted only to the Order of Holy Calligraphers, a group of scholars that live far from her town. To avoid being arrested, she keeps her powers a secret… until they’re discovered by an unexpected ally who’s been looking for such a spellcaster for a very long time.
Cat has a quick temper and a fierce protective streak, especially when it comes to her best friend, Peter. She doesn’t know if she can complete the mission she’s been given, but she will try her best, and use magic against itself to save the people of her world.

*I’m going to do more of these ipad drawings so I can introduce new watchers to the characters from my book… so they know who I draw all the time.

I drew modern-d’AU Cat on my iPad with me cool new stylus. It is not as responsive as my tablet, which plays with my brain a bit, but its marginally better than my finger, so that’s somethimg.
FYI modern-d’AU Threadcaster is a thing I’ve been playing with. It’s the characters from Threadcaster in a modern setting with modern illnesses instead of Curses. No miracles or magic, just Cat, Peter, and their friends from the cancer ward trying to live as best they can. You might see moderndau pics up in a bit. It’s really strange drawing Pete skinny and sick instead of thick and bandaged, but he has the use of his hands now, so that’s something new.

I’m serious about this modern-d’AU thing. I’ve got sketches all ready, just haven’t posted them yet.

Cat looking uncertain
I fell asleep talking to the barista at Kaldis today. Still writing now. Wish me luck!

Back at Kaldis today trying to write again. I did not fall asleep talking to any baristas, but I nearly bit the head off someone on the way in the door. It’s been a tough week.
